Rams vs Lions Early Picks, Predictions & Odds for SNF Week 1

The first Sunday Night Football game of the 2024 NFL season just so happens to be the same matchup that ended the Los Angeles Rams’ 2023 campaign. Sean McVay and L.A. face a familiar foe when they come to Ford Field to play the Detroit Lions in Week 1.

Detroit squeaked by with a 24-23 win in that game and our Rams vs. Lions predictions expect Dan Campbell’s squad to be on the right side once more. Read my early NFL picks and leans for Sunday Night Football below.

Earl spread leanLions -3 (-128 at bet365)

My analysisI’m hesitant to downgrade Sean McVay and his pregame prep, especially early into the season. During his storied career, the Los Angeles Rams head coach is one of the m…

Kylian Mbappé, not Neymar or Lionel Messi, is PSG’s real star this season

An assist that defied the laws of physics from João Cancelo, an unstoppable shot from Rodri and a goal from Bernardo Silva helped Manchester City to a 3-0 win over Everton on Sunday. Rafa Benítez’s team were missing a raft of key players in Yerry Mina, Abdoulaye Doucouré and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but the same was true for City, with Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne both absent. City dominated the game, restricting Everton to just 22% possession and one shot on target, but they will face a sterner test when PSG visit the Etihad on Wednesday night.

The Ligue 1 leaders also picked up three points at the weekend, winning 3-1 against a Nantes side that had beaten them towards the end of last season. Nantes are now managed by Antoine Kombou…

No manager, no form, no confidence: what is going on with Brazil?

In order to avoid potential fallings-out in Brazil, people are advised to refrain from discussing three subjects: religion, politics and football. One thing that everyone can surely agree on at the moment, though, is that the national team are struggling. The team usually give a nation of vira-latas with an inherent inferiority complex a rare chance to boast superiority over the rest of the world – perhaps only matched at the height of Ayrton Senna’s powers, or by the people who believe that Alberto Santos‑Dumont and not the Wright brothers invented the aeroplane – but watching the Seleção has been a dismal experience of late.

Brazil are expected to win every game, usually in style, so being knocked out of the World Cup at the quar…

Colts' Gardner Minshew returns to Jacksonville to face Jaguars

The Indianapolis Colts are now Gardner Minshew's team for at least four games — and possibly longer. With No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson (throwing shoulder) placed on injured reserve, Minshew can remind his former team about his skills when the Colts visit the Jacksonville Jaguars in an AFC South battle on Sunday. Minshew spent two seasons (2019-20) with Jacksonville and passed for 37 touchdowns against only 11 interceptions in 23 games (20 starts) while producing outbreaks of "Minshew Mania." But the Jaguars weren't a good club, received the No. 1 overall pick of the 2021 draft and selected fellow quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence and Minshew spent a lot of time together in the offseason and training camp, but when it became clear Lawrence was read…
